"My first hip-hop concert that I went to was Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five. I was completely awestruck at their outfits, dance moves and how they rocked the mic," states Victoria.
Victoria knows the hip-hop scene. Music. People. Events. The latest gossip. She's been in the scene since 1981. Her knowledge of the hip-hop world is evident when reading her articles and interviews. Victoria first broke into the music industry with her college radio show (KAOS) at Evergreen State College. "The first person that I had on my radio show was DJ Whiz Kid. He would come and scratch records live at the station for me and my listeners. We would take calls on the air and have a non stop radio party. Whiz and I did this week after week. One Friday night we looked outside the station booth and couldn't believe that there were about 50 people in the lobby dancing to the radio show."
Since then, Victoria has been a freelance writer, speaker, and workshop presenter. Publications that she has written for include OP, Xpoz, T Chad, The Connex List, and Showcase.
Along with pumping out articles and reviews, Victoria is the executive director at PileDriving Records, helping emerging hip-hop artitsts pump out new beats.
